Sweeping with a new fabric sleeve requires less effort, while having a greater impact on the stone.

All of the dirt and grime on a dirty broom-head was picked up from the path of a stone. As fabric gets dirty, it loses that ability to pick up new debris, making picks more likely.

At Curling Tools we are not in the business of squeezing you for profit on simple fabric sleeves. With our brooms you can take advantage of the power of fresh fabric, all season long.

The deceptively simple construction of BasicBroom means there's simply less to go wrong.

Further, every component of BasicBroom can be easily replaced with tools you have at home if it becomes damaged. We offer all parts for purchase individually, at fair prices, so you don't have to worry about your broom wearing out over time.

What's included?

Your BasicBroom comes with everything you need to get out on the ice.

The broom head comes fully assembled, just screw the head to the handle and you're ready to sweep.

World Curling certification status

Although the BasicBroom uses the same tested components as the SmartBroom 3, which is certified by World Curling for use in competitive play, BasicBroom cannot be approved until World Curling ends its pause on new equipment testing. We do not know when this will happen, or what the specifications for approved sweeping devices will be once it does.

Handle options

All of our handles are 100% carbon fibre for incredible strength, stiffness, and lightness.

We have two handle size options:

  • 28.5mm (1 ⅛") diameter
  • 25mm (1") diameter

Depending on the size of your hands, the thinner or thicker handle may be best for you.

The top portion of the handle comes in two colour options. A solid blue, or an inclusive rainbow pride flag.

All BasicBrooms and SmartBrooms are compatible with any of our Curling Tools handles.
