Curling Tools unveiled its latest innovation today, the next generation of SmartBroom. SmartBroom 4 has been completely re-engineered from the inside out. While retaining its best-in-class broom design, all new electronics and software inside create an entirely new set of sweeping experiences.

SmartBroom 4 detects plow sweeping automatically, and presents plowing as a new type of stroke alongside push and pull.

SmartBroom 4 is faster than ever, enabling it to capture every individual stroke without time-averaging. Each push and pull is recorded, along with plow captures at ~4Hz. This kind of data fidelity gives you a deeper look into your sweeping than ever before.

SmartBroom 4 now tracks your sweeping in the background without an active bluetooth connection. Turn on your SmartBroom, hit the ice, and every single stroke you take will be stored for download to our free SmartBroom iOS app for later review. “SmartBroom 3 was already the state of the art, but we didn’t let that slow us down”, said Andrew Flemming who leads the Advanced Measurement Systems Group (AMSG) at Curling Tools. “We upgraded every part of what’s inside a SmartBroom, and the entire team is incredibly proud of the result”.

Other upgrades include an over 5x increase in measurement sensitivity of the force sensors, over 3x increase in battery life for in-game capture, and 300% more LEDs (compared to SmartBroom 3). It also looks really cool with its new translucent housing.
